Debtor Electronic Bankruptcy Noticing (DeBN)

Debtor Electronic Bankruptcy Noticing (DeBN) is a FREE and voluntary service that allows a debtor to request delivery of orders and court-generated notices by email rather than by U.S. Mail to the debtor's mailing address.

Examples of the most common orders and notices sent to the debtor and other parties in bankruptcy cases:

  • Meeting of Creditors Notice
  • Order of Discharge of Debtor
  • Order Dismissing Case
  • Order on Partial Filing
  • Order Confirming Chapter 13 Plan
  • Order on Motion for Relief from Stay

Advantages of DeBN

  • DeBN is FREE - There is no charge to register or to view orders and court-generated notices sent to the debtor by email.
  • DeBN is FAST - The debtor will receive orders and court-generated notices the same day they are filed, and the same day the debtor's attorney receives them.
  • DeBN is CONVENIENT - The debtor can access orders and court-generated notices anywhere internet access is available.

To Request DeBN

  1. Download the PDF fillable Debtor's Electronic Noticing Request form, or obtain a copy from the clerk's office.
  2. Complete, print and sign the Initial Activation Request section of the form.
  3. Mail or deliver the completed form to the clerk's office, or have the debtor's attorney file the form through CM/ECF.  The request form is not a part of the official court record and will not be available to the public.

To ensure that the debtor receives ALL notices by email, the request form should be filed at the same time the petition is filed.
