Use the following steps to request a transcript of a court proceeding. Please note that audio may not be available for all hearings.
- Contact one of the transcribers on the Court’s list of transcription service providers to arrange for transcription of a court proceeding and to request an estimate. To see the current maximum transcript rates approved by the Judicial Conference visit: https://www.uscourts.gov/court-programs/federal-court-reporting-program#rates.
Note: The transcriber may need to obtain additional information from the presiding judge’s courtroom deputy to prepare a transcript estimate. See the Judges page on the court’s website for courtroom deputy contact information.
- Complete the Audio Recording and Transcript Order form, identifying the transcriber selected to prepare the transcript.
- Submit the completed Audio Recording and Transcript Order form to the Clerk’s Office using the instructions below and send a copy of the completed Audio Recording and Transcript Order form to the selected transcriber.
- E-filers: Use the Request for Audio Recording or Transcript Order event in CM/ECF and attach a completed Audio Recording and Transcript Order form. If you are requesting the recording of more than one proceeding, docket the event separately for each proceeding requested and attach the appropriate request form.
- Non-electronic filers may submit completed order forms by mail to:

- E-filers: Use the Request for Audio Recording or Transcript Order event in CM/ECF and attach a completed Audio Recording and Transcript Order form. If you are requesting the recording of more than one proceeding, docket the event separately for each proceeding requested and attach the appropriate request form.
- The transcriber will acknowledge the transcript order in CM/ECF by using the Transcriber Acknowledgment of Transcript Order event.
- The clerk’s office will share the audio files with the selected transcriber. The transcriber will work with the ordering party to arrange for payment and delivery. All payments for transcripts must be made payable to the transcriber, NOT the U.S. Bankruptcy Court.
- The transcriber will file the transcript with the clerk’s office in CM/ECF.
