All individual bankruptcy filers must complete pre-discharge debtor education. The Financial Management or Debtor Education course must be completed after filing for bankruptcy. A certificate of completion is required before the filer’s debts can be discharged. Only financial management or debtor education course providers that have been approved by the U.S. Trustee’s Program may issue these certificates.
