Retired Judge John J. Connelly

It is with great sadness that the Bankruptcy Court family announces the passing of our retired colleague and friend, Judge John J. Connelly.

Judge Connelly served as a bankruptcy judge in the District of Minnesota from 1965 to 1986. He was the Bankruptcy Court’s first Chief Judge, serving in that role for two years, from 1984 through 1986.  After seven years in private practice, Judge Connelly served as a recalled judge in the Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of New York until 2000.

The court offers its condolences to Judge Connelly’s family, most particularly his wife, Mary, sons Tom, John, Tim, Mike and Brian and daughters Kathleen and Maureen.  Judge Connelly’s obituary is available here.
