A media account is available to any individual employed by a newspaper, television or radio station, or other media organization. A media account allows the user read-only access to information and records in bankruptcy cases and proceedings through the court's Case Management/Electronic Case Files (CM/ECF) system. The account will allow the user to search for bankruptcy dockets and documents by case or proceeding number and will enable the user to receive email notification to his or her personal email account when any document is filed in a case or proceeding for which the user requests notice.
To obtain a media account, complete the Media Account registration form. After completing the form, select the Print Form button in the upper right corner of the form, print the form to PDF and save it. Email the completed form to firstname.lastname@example.org.
Once your registration form is processed, you will be issued a CM/ECF user name and password which will provide access to case records through CM/ECF and allow you to identify cases for which you would like to receive electronic notice.
In applying for a media account, you agree to notify the court if your employment is discontinued so your account can be deactivated.
Users with media access will need a PACER account in order to view documents.
