If individuals are unable to pay the full filing fee at the time of filing, they may file an Application to Pay Filing Fee in Installments (B3A). The application is available on the court’s web site, , Rules and Forms, Official Bankruptcy Forms, Form B3A. A minium payment of half the filing fee is required at the time of filing and half no later than 30 calendar days after the filing. (This is only available to individuals; corporations and partnerships must pay the filing fee in full.)

If the application to pay the filing fee in installments is approved, the fee (for individuals only) is as follows:

Due at filing:
Chapter 7 $167.50
Chapter 11 $858.50
Chapter 12 $137.50
Chapter 13 $155.00

Installments must be made as ordered and may be paid in person or by mail and may be made using cash, money order, or cashier’s check. [The Clerk’s office cannot accept a debtor’s check or credit card for the filing fee.] Failure to pay installments as ordered will result in the case being automatically dismissed.
